A benchmark for temporal controllability in text-to-music generation. TimingBench turns “bring in drums at exactly the sixth second” into a reproducible, apparatus-aware measurement — and finds that deployed systems follow tempo but not time.

Results from the first benchmark of temporal controllability in text-to-music. Across four widely used commercial systems, taan places instructed events on time 2.8× as often as the best of them.
